1. Letters, 1839-1848, are written mainly from the Paterson River by Arnold and his wife to members of the family in England. In 1856 Arnold became a member of the Legislative Assembly and afterwards Minister for Public Works and Speaker. 2. Letters received, 1856-1875, re political matters from officials including Baron Lisgar, Earl of Belmore, Sir William Denison, Sir Henry Parkes, William Forster, Sir Charles Cowper and Sir Alfred Stephen. 3. Draft of a speech and poems.
